My Dream Machine!

My DREAM MACHINE!! A KitchenAid Mixer in Empire Red!!

Isn't this just too cool?!?! Such a beautiful piece of equipment that does wonders to plain old butter and flour! Woot!! I can safely say it is every baker's dream to have of one of these handsome creatures standing on the kitchen counter. I have been eyeing the KitchenAid mixer for the looooongest time, but unfortunately, it is rather pricy piece of equipment.

The culinary experts say that having a good mixer will churn out better quality stuff. Because the ingredients are properly mixed, the result is finer. And discerning tastebuds will be able to tell the difference. Perhaps that is why food made during the baking demos I've attended so far taste so good. They didn't do anything differently from what the recipe called for, so one possible reason could be the equipment they used (even a male colleague of mine swears by a good mixer! In his words, the ordinary cheapo mixer "cannot make it lah!")

I thought I had to contend with the basic "cheapo" mixer for the rest of my baking life until i heard that Robinsons was having a cardmember sale!!! Omigod!!! $200 off the price!!!! I had to get my hands on one now!!!

So on sale day, I planted myself in front to the closed shutters of Robinsons and patiently waited for the witching hour. This was so exciting! I was gearing myself up to dash in as the shutters were going up and aim straight to where the KitchenAids were displayed. I paced back and forth waiting...waiting....while hubby stood by sniggering and laughing at my crazy antics. Do I care, well, hell no! I'm getting my KitchenAid today!!

Oh oh...the shutters are coming up!! Get ready Ok, I didn't actually do a sprint (didn't want to look like an escapee from the asylum haha...). I walked briskly to the KitchenAid and started searching through all the boxes for Empire Red. Come on, come on, there has to be at least one somewhere? Orange..no...Pink...no....oh damn....Black..no.... AAAAHHHHH!!! EMPIRE RED!!! I grabbed it (just in case someone else put their hands on it first :p) and off I went to part with my money in exchange for my dream machine. I'm so looking forward to churning out great tasting goodies! Boy, was a I happy girl that day :)
