Say Cheeeeeese!!! Cheesecake!

This texture of this cheesecake is creeeaaaammmmyyy. It's really rich and not for the faint-hearted. If you are on a diet...well, you can forget the diet :p

Or you could try to restrict yourself to just one slice, but that's going to be really tough. It'll take a lot of will power....resistance is futile!! Oh well, just one more slice....or two....or three....won't do any harm right? :p

Upholding National Day Colours!

I was invited to a pot luck dinner at a good friend's house on National Day. For obvious reasons, I volunteered to bring dessert :p

Since it was our Nation's birthday, I thought it would be fitting to keep to the National Day colours of red and white. I didn't have much time to do anything complicated so I searched around for what I could use. Viola! I found strawberries! Strawberries are red!

Chocolate Ice-Cream Imposters!

Want some chocolate ice-cream?

Waste not, want not :) What to do with leftover cupcakes? Frost them and eat them! No-brainer right? Hahahaha!

I decided to whip up my favourite lemon cream cheese frosting for this batch of extra cupcakes I had after I was done with the Pocoyo ones. Somehow, I was aiming for a sweet blue-coloured frosting but absent-mindedly, I forgot that cream cheese and butter had a yellow base. So I ended up with green frosting :s I didn't feel like having green frosting that day so after a couple of experiments, I ended up with light brown frosting, which was fine. In fact, I loved that they turned out looking like chocolate soft-serve ice-cream :)

Looks good enough to dupe anyone into thinking they are the real thing, that is until they sink their teeth into it! They will be pleasantly surprised......hehehe... :p

Roses for a Mommy

My friend requested a batch of the Chocolate Cupcakes with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting, which I previously made, for her mommy's birthday. She's got a "happening" mommy who has a big circle of friends and she wanted to share cupcakes with them on her birthday :p Cool.....!

Unfortunately, I didn't have the light of day for better pics, but again, some pics are better than no pics for me :)

Simplicity & Elegance - Celebration Cupcakes

I promised a colleague I would bring cupcakes to celebrate our win in an inter-department challenge. Now what do I have in my larder (ok lah, kitchen haha) that I could use to whip up something yummy....cream cheese!

I decided on Chocolate Cupcakes with Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting, something slightly different from the usual buttercream frosting.

This had the richness of cream cheese and a slightly tangy, tart flavour from the lemon zest.

Great complement to the richness of the chocolate cake :)
